And this is the will of Him that sent Me, that every
one which seeth the Son, and believeth on Him,
may have everlasting life: and I will raise Him up
at the last day. (John 6:40)
Even though Jesus promised to raise up on the last
day all those who have everlasting life, many people
didn't heed His words.

Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many,
I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and
shall not be able. (Luke 13:24)
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the
gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to
destruction, and many there be which go in
thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow
is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few
there be that find it. (Matthew 7:13-14)
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord,
have we not prophesied in Thy name? and
in Thy name have cast out devils? and in
Thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never
knew you: depart from Me, ye that work
iniquity. (Matthew 7:22-23)

Many people will say that they did all kinds of work
for God while living in this world, and yet God will
say to them, "I never knew you," because they have
rejected His will. A person must first receive eternal
life and then he can walk with God.
The Holy Spirit brings us to realize that Jesus is
our Savior and that He has forgiven our sins for all
time. Since we have received God's love, when we
have fellowship with other believers, we understand
each other's hearts. When we hear someone else's
testimony of salvation, we can identify with them,
and hymns that were once meaningless to us now
become our very own.
Who makes all of this possible? It's the work of
the Holy Spirit of God, and it's very important to
ask yourself whether you are part of this work. If
not, you could be one of those who, on the last day,
are addressed with the words, "I never knew you."
Religious activities may be necessary in human society,
but they are of no use at all when we stand
before God.
